What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is a unique physical activity that combines elements of martial arts, dance, and music. It is a full-body workout that involves a variety of movements and techniques, including kicks, dodges, and acrobatics.
Capoeira classes will introduce a positive outlet for children to improve their coordination, balance, speed, motor skills, strength, and overall physical health. Through the kids' capoeira classes, they will also enhance their ability to focus, stay motivated, and positively express themselves. Children in Capoeira learn amazing movements that are both challenging and fun, making this a great opportunity for children to test their limits in a safe environment and learn about consistency and resilience as they gain a sense of accomplishment.
The importance of Capoeira goes beyond physical benefits as the children will learn historical and cultural values through music and experiences in class. Learning Capoeira will positively influence the way the children behave, listen, and absorb information outside of the capoeira classes such as in school, with friends, and at home.
The involvement with Capoeira awakens the musical, physical, artistic, and creative sides of the children who practice in this art form. Capoeira is one of the best ways for children to develop mind, body, and strength. In addition to the benefits above, Capoeira helps to build a strong and positive character and personality through self-expression, confidence, and team-building skills in a fun and playful environment.
What To Expect From The Intro Class?
The first and most important thing you should expect is that your kid/s will have fun!
Our class starts with a short story to introduce and explain about the art of Capoeira.
After the short introduction, we will start moving and teaching. We will be using exciting "missions" and fun games to teach the kids some of the basic Capoeira moves, kicks and escapes.
By the end of that class, the kids will be able to play a real Capoeira game, know some kicks and escapes and be able to sing a couple of Capoeira songs!
"I have never done martial arts or dance, can I still participate?"
There are no requirements or experience needed to start. And there is no need to be in a particular shape or fitness level to take part in our classes. Our instructors are highly trained and all the exercises and routines have various levels to accommodate all physical and/or fitness levels.
All our Capoeira classes are taught by Mestre Baz, that has been teaching Capoeira for over 20 years working with Kids, teens, and adults. Mestre Baz is a certified Capoeira Mestre by The Israeli Center for Capoeira, Certified Capoeira by Wingate institute for Sports Science in Israel, and an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer
