About The Center
Movement. Connection. Transformation.
Founded in 2007 by Baz Michaeli, The Michigan Center for Capoeira is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds discover their strength, creativity, and confidence through the art of Capoeira.
From our first classes in Farmington, Michigan, we have worked to share this powerful blend of martial arts, music, movement, and culture with our community. Leading workshops in schools, performing at local events, and welcoming hundreds of students into our roda.
But our mission goes beyond teaching techniques.
We don’t just teach Capoeira.
We inspire and empower people of all ages through the tradition of martial arts, helping them develop strength both mentally and physically.
Our practice is about building a community where individuals and families can grow, support one another, and thrive together.
Our Vision
We believe Capoeira is more than a martial art. It’s a way to help people become healthy, confident, and inspired individuals.
Through movement, rhythm, and connection, students develop resilience, discipline, creativity, and joy while discovering what they are truly capable of.
Our Purpose
-
Empower Through Movement
